Meet the Tandem Electric Team that makes the magic happen

We’re excited to introduce the amazing individuals who make Tandem Electric what it is!

Meet Ryan!

How long have you been involved in this line of work? How long have you been a part of Tandem Electric team?
I started helping my Dad at the age of 12 doing side work for a lot of our neighbors up in Hesperia. Professionally, I started in 2006 right after graduation with a company in Fremont. In 2010 I took an open position with Fredrickson Electric and have been here ever since and was involved in the transition when Tandem Electric purchased Fredrickson Electric in 2019.

What is your biggest inspiration in life or in your job?
My biggest inspiration in my job has always been to try and become half of the electrician that my father is. He’s always been the smartest person I’ve ever met and I always admired that. Beyond that I really enjoy watching the younger guys grow and learn in every aspect of the trade. Theres so much to learn in this field and watching them figure things out that lets say a year before they thought they would never be able to master is really awesome.

What do you enjoy most about your work?
Honestly, it’s the relationships. All my co-workers are great. I think we have one of the best crews around and each one of them can really go out and do almost everything we put on their plate.

Share a funny or interesting story, how do you make your work day fun?
So when I was 7 or 8 , I was at daycare and because I was a problem child I was constantly in time-out. After so many times in trouble you start to get bored and try and pass the time. One day I was sitting there and I noticed an electrical outlet right next to me. I decided “Hey lets stick this paper clip inside of it and see what happens” That was the first time I took an electrical shock. It didn’t deter me and I decided right there that I think I might want to do this for a living.
I make the work day fun by not taking too many things seriously. I love to joke around with everyone. Giving each other a hard time makes for a really fun day.

Tell us about yourself and family. (Kids, spouse, pets, any involvement in the community).
I’ve been with my wife since 2009 and we have been married almost 15 years. We have 3 kids. Amelia, Joe and Kolten. We also have 3 dogs, 2 German Shepherds Valkyrie and Willy and a black lab mix name Zeek.
